The boy in striped pajamas offers us a movie drama where the power of a young boy's feelings can over comes those who try to brain wash him into thinking jews are bad. The young actor played the character of Bruno, the son of a commander at a Nazi extermination camp during World War II. Because its gaze is so level and so unyielding, it stands as one of the better dramatic films made on this subject (although it's not nearly as fine as Louis Malle's Au Revoir les Enfants, in which the camps remain a distant abstraction). | Rating: 4/5 Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 June 2015.
